HOW TO BYPASS ADF.LY LINKS

Adf.ly: is on first glance one of the many url shortening services available on the Internet. What makes the service different is that it combined url shortening with ad serving either on interstitial pages or using banners. If you open a link shortened by the service you are often taken to a page full of ads where you have to wait 5 seconds on before you can click no the skip ad button to get to the actual page you want to visit.
You may encounter those links on forums and websites that use it to monetize their contents. Judging from the payout rates posted on the Adf.ly site this seems lucrative considering that you do not display the ads on your own site but on an interstitial page after a visitor clicks on a link on your website.
It you dislike being taken to these advertisement pages when you click on adf.ly links you may be interested in a script that bypasses those pages automatically.

Adf.ly Redir is a userscript that is compatible with Google Chrome Opera, Safari and the Firefox web browser if Greasemonkey or Scriptish are installed. Once installed in the browser it will work automatically whenever you click on a shortened link. You may notice that it takes a second or two before you are automatically redirected from the ad page to the destination page but that is still better than having to wait for the countdown to run down before you can click on the skip adbutton to go to the destination page manually.
The script offers several advantages over comparable scripts. What makes it special is that it won’t break the browsing history so that you can use the back or forward buttons as if the adf.ly page never existed. The redirection script is furthermore fully compatible with popular extensions such as NoScript, Adblock Plus or Ghostery.
If you encounter adf.ly redirects regularly onthe Internet, you may want to install the script to bypass them automatically on your system.
