Scan your pc(localdisk/harddrive) for errors without downloading annoying softwares

HOW TO SCAN YOUR PC FOR HIDDEN ERRORS
(instead of downloading or buying softwares that do not actually do anything)

Yesterday my friends pc could not starup, it just went dark or blank after showing the windows sign and remained like that. To solve this we first did a a local disk scan in the UEFI/ BIOS menu, and found our way into the command prompt and typed just one command "sfc /scannow", after the problems where fixed we restarted the system and it was okay.

CMD

OR

GUI

* Method 1
    1. Go to start button
    2. Click on computer, and right click on local disk
    3. Click properties and select open
    4. Click on "check now"
    5. Check the necessary options and then start

* Method 2

Open Computer by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Computer.Right-click the hard disk drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select Automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report problems but not fix them.

To perform a thorough disk check, select Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This scan attempts to find and repair physical errors on the hard disk itself, and it can take much longer to complete.

To check for both file errors and physical errors, select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

Click Start.   You can also use the commad prompt by simply typing "chkdsk /f" , "sfc /scannow" in admin mode
Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check Now.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

* Method 3
OR you don't really like cmd just

1. Click the menu button
2. Type the commands on the search pannel i.e ("chkdsk /f" ,"sfc /scannow" )

You can also go to the UEFI/BIOS menu and do starup repair.
